1 John 4:19
We love Him because He first loved us.
I want to romance You, stroll down the walk of life, hand in hand.
A pure stream of love flows from my heart, glistening with passion
When You smile at me, I can’t help but blush under the moonlight.
Your reflection in me awakens my fire.
Sitting by a brook, I see only Light in Your eyes.
Angels sing all around, the Heavens are open.
My body longs to be closer, yet here You are with me. I crave Your touch.
Filled with laughter, too much joy, these feelings, this freedom, my life cannot be without You.
I cannot be without You.
Night continues it’s fall but I’m not afraid. The stars are shining. Your beauty is much greater.
You’re sacrifice for me more than I can imagine, oh, how You love me so
Here we are, You and I, never to leave, never to forsake, death shall not do us part.
Always to honor, always to cherish, before time knew me, my world, my existence, always has been loved by You.
What shall I do without You? I am poor, yet You give me riches, I am sick, yet You give me health, I am dead, yet You give me life, eternal.
Without Your breath, I am dust, without Your presence, I am void.
When I cry You wipe every tear. I’m hopeless yet You gave me purpose to live, You are my family, my friend, my partner.
You are love, You belong to me, I to You, and nothing can take my hand from Yours
1 John 4:16
16And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.
Love is the strongest force on Earth. God is love, yet He’s always seen as the one who wants to make our lives a living hell. Let His love speak for itself. Love is a verb. When God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die on a cross for you and me, it was an action. If God had never done something, His love would have been false. Love isn’t a feeling, it’s not found in flowers or chocolate, not in a smile or a warm fuzzy feeling. It’s not soft words you whisper in someone’s ear. Love is the experience that follows all those things. It takes you and it never lets go. You can’t find love, you can’t buy it, there’s nothing you can do to deserve it, work for it, or earn it. God is the source of love. When He fills you with Himself, love, then it will begin to flow out of you to others. That’s why we all have a hard time trying to love others, because we haven’t found the right source. It’s Him, your Heavenly Father. The bible says that “God is love” (1 John 4:8).
That’s the only time He is put into one word, and it’s the most beautiful word. People give their money, time, dreams, and bodies, everything that they have for those four letters. We all want it. We can never have enough of it. Love keeps us going. One day, your parent’s will fail you. Your spouse or loved one will make a mistake and hurt you. Your friends might disappear. You will find out that this world can’t offer you the love that you’re looking for. What you’re looking for, it’s not here. Stop looking in the wrong places. Get alone somewhere quiet, and ask your Father to fill you with His love. Yeah, He’s your Heavenly Dad. He wants to just love you all over.
Love is also aggressive. It’s furious. When a mother is defending their baby (even if it’s an animal), they will fight and even die sometimes. God is the same way with us. When we read the bible, we see God commanding His people to kill entire cities full of people. We think “how can a God of love, go around killing people and then say that He is a God of love”. God has never changed (Hebrews 13:8) and He never will. Every time you see God attacking another nation or people, read everything in context. It’s always the same reason, which is to defend His people one way or another. Either that or it’s that His people betrayed Him. God is not an instigator, nor is He out to get us. He wants the best for us, but His kids keep doing whatever they want. Don’t ever blame God for anything bad that has happened to you. Remember that we have three enemies: a real devil (1 Peter 5:8), our flesh (Romans 7:15-20), and a world that hates us (John 15:19). Love is our weapon against all these, and we must not look at how much we do for God or how much we love Him, but how much He loves us! Get your mind off yourself, because you’re going to fail Him, if not now, then later. When you do fail Him, you’ll feel depressed because you didn’t keep to your man-made standards. Not only love, but fear (respect, reverence) for Him as well. Not the kind of fear that is scary or makes your knees shake, I mean the fear that shows Him you honor Him, respect Him, and that you obey His commandments because He is God, and the king of the universe. (Isaiah 11:2)
